Where did this all begin?

What first got you into bodyboarding?

My dad pushed me into my first wave when I was a kid — that was it, I was hooked. When I moved from Melbourne to Perth with my mum to help heal my severe eczema, the ocean became medicine. Saltwater did what nothing else could, and bodyboarding just flowed naturally from there. In my teens, I craved belonging in the surf scene — bodyboarding became my identity, my escape, my expression.

What inspired you to turn that passion into a brand and movement?

When I was 20, I dreamed of opening a bodyboard-only surf shop. Life happened, and that dream went on pause. Now, at 48, that fire’s back — stronger than ever. I want to spend the rest of my life chasing waves with like-minded people, creating unforgettable surf missions, and building a global bodyboarding community. Quiver is that dream turned real: a lifestyle brand, a surf family, a passport to the waves we live for.

One sentence — what’s Quiver all about?

To bring bodyboarders together for epic, well-run surf trips — and build a community that lives for the ocean, adventure, and the lifestyle that comes with it.

What’s the Quiver experience like?

What kind of trips are we running?

Tropical islands, remote reef breaks, and raw adventures. Quiver trips are for those who live to chase perfect waves, but also for those who want more than just the surf — the stories, the banter, the community. Think jungle coastlines, island beers after a session, deep belly laughs, and surf that makes your hands shake. This is for the hardcore and the hungry — but also for those searching for connection and identity through bodyboarding.

I also see Quiver as a guide for the next generation. Surfing has lost some of its soul — but bodyboarding can bring it back. We're reclaiming the edge, creating a space where young groms and older chargers alike can find their tribe and get amongst it. Especially for older riders like me, who still want the trip — just need the crew to make it happen.

Who are these trips for?

✅ Solo bodyboarders
✅ Crews of mates
✅ Young groms starting out
✅ Older riders chasing barrels
✅ Surf-mad backpackers
✅ Couples or families along for the ride
✅ Literally anyone who froths the ocean

What should people feel on a Quiver trip?

That rush of “we’re actually doing this.” From the moment you book, to the first glimpse of the ocean, to beers on the balcony after a perfect session — it’s about more than just surf. It’s the freedom, the brotherhood and sisterhood, the new friendships forged by fire and foam. The laughs, the food, the sunsets, the near-misses, the big wins, the wild moments that become stories.

And for a few fleeting days, you feel like you’re living the dream you watched in videos as a kid — chasing perfect waves in far-off places, camera rolling. You’re not just pretending to be a pro — you are one in your own movie. That’s the vibe.

What’s the Quiver look and feel?

What kind of content do you imagine us making?

Everything. GoPro barrel shots, slo-mo highlight reels, raw dock interviews, founder diaries, crew edits that are more comedy than surf. Think short films that capture the emotion of a trip — not just the waves, but the chaos, connection, and culture. We’re documenting what it feels like to live this life.

What surf media do you love?

The original Rip Curl “The Search” — that was the dream. And definitely what Culture Bodyboarding and Bali Bodyboard Club are doing right now. Raw, real, and inspiring.

The Dream

Let’s go big — what’s the 5-year vision?

Quiver becomes the go-to brand for bodyboarding travel — anywhere in the world. We’ve got a core crew ready to pounce when a swell lights up, whether it’s Indo, Samoa, or a cyclone hitting Queensland. We’ve got film crews documenting last-minute missions and remote discoveries.

There’s a massive Discord or community hub where people share tips, stories, swell maps. We help pros plan their next trip and help the everyday charger feel like a part of something. And we’ve got a killer paid video platform with the best edits in the game — all under the Quiver banner.

Who would you LOVE to collaborate with?

Mike Stewart is the ultimate dream — but really, anyone passionate about bodyboarding who’s pushing the culture forward. Riders, resorts, shapers, surf filmmakers, even just mates with a camera and a sense of humour.

What does success feel like for you — in real life?

I’m on a boat in Indo, sipping a beer, watching the horizon light up with swell lines. I’m debt-free, the trips are rolling, the crew’s frothing — and it’s all been built by Quiver. That’s the dream.

Anything else in the tank?

I’d love to eventually launch a world-class bodyboarding tour — something fresh, soulful, and hardcore. Shark Island in the east, The Box in the west, remote Indo slabs. Backed by Quiver, run for the riders, with real prize money and community hype. Let’s make it legendary.
